What I loved this week:

…our gorgeous weather, sunny, crisp, a little chilly, just perfect for spring. The sky was the bluest blue, the hills green and the trees blooming.

… light trench coats. To keep the chill out, to look pulled together and stylish and spring-ready nothing is better than light cotton trench coats. Cream, light khaki and light gray are classic but a little color makes you happier.

…pink nailpolish. I have been wearing dark purple and dark red for the last six months but today I started wearing my nice rose pink polish and strappy platform shoes. Hooray for spring! It is finally here! These are the colors I’m loving right now:

  1. A technical question:
Does one have to wear dark nail polish in the winter and light in the spring-summer?
In other words, Is there a seasonal color code for nail polish?

  2. Yes, some people play by that rule. Darker colors for winter, lighter for spring and summer. If you look at OPI collections you see lots of dark purple and wine and plum for Fall collections and lots of pink and lavender and cream for Spring. Bright nailpolishes are IN whenever bright colors are trendy, like this past 4 season.
Bright red is always IN, I guess.
Also some people don’t limit themselves to rules and wear whatever polish they like whenever they feel like it. They are the Brave!

Don't forget, there is a third group. Those who only have couple of colors (or maybe even one ;)) and refuse to expand their collection,
    reasons? ;)

Oh, this is not going with my original question... :)

  4. Well, I guess some people find something they are happy with and stick to it for the rest of their lives, kinda like marriage!
Or they are ultraconservative and don’t want to try new things.
Or have a fixed set of rules about what is stylish and what is not and won’t stray from those.
For example: I read somewhere that “Ladies” wear dainty delicate shoes and soft pinkish nail polishes to show their cute feet and their femininity and elegance (!!!).
I guess there are still girls following these kind of out-dated rules.
I don’t mean any disrespect toward any of these groups. I believe in wearing whatever makes you happy (with respect to society’s rules and decorum).

  5. Hi,
Nice blog! Do you know who the designer is for the trench coat on the far right of the top row of your collection of trench coats?

  6. Hi Erin,
    It's a Burberry, a double-breasted cotton trench.
