Lab day

I spend the whole day (from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm) in the lab and standing! An excellent opportunity for testing this outfit’s level of comfort (Hey little sis, this one files under your specialty!). I am becoming a true believer in comfort of linen fabrics! 

On a side note: It is not the experiments or the time dedicated to them that are stressful, it’s the people in your team! Today was great and peaceful (a unique experience!). I am absolutely happy with my new lab partner.

Black and Blue Monday

This striped skirt is from Forever21 for less than $15. It is made of a very stretchy jersey so when I ordered the right size (a Small), it looked skin tight and very skimpy. I had to exchange it for a Large size to get a decent and appropriate fit. Then I altered the hem from mid calf to knee length and that’s when it started to look good. Paired with my blue silk shirt, it’s the ultimate high-low outfit: Low skirt, high shirt, low shoes and high bag!

 

White Gold

Dinner with family friends. The best thing about a tunic is that it covers the tummy, so you can indulge in your favorite food.

 

Dotty and Orange

Another wearing of my polka dot shorts, this time matched it with a denim button down shirt. To break and lighten up the outfit, I added my orange belt and wedges. Although this orange is very muted and looks part of the Tan family. The again I wished I had an orange bag! Can I ever stop being a matchy-matchy person?!

Dotted White

When I bought this polka dotted mint shirt from Forever21, I didn’t think I would get so much wear out of it. This little shirt plays nicely with many neutrals, dark washed jeans, white, light and faded denim, gray, cream… Today I paired it with my white shorts and accents of emerald green and was extremely proud of myself!

Olive and Lemon

 I like my bright yellow top. The neon or lemony yellow is very hard to miss, so every time I go into my closet I want to pick it! I was tempted to wear it with white shorts again today but I’m supposed to work in the lab until evening and a longer (knee length) skirt seemed more appropriate. Now if I had olive or yellow shoes and an olive tote bag!
