Leap day

People say Leap day is the time to take risks and make a leap of faith. All I can do right now is relay on tried and trues, like a combination of black and white. It's better to say: I'm feeling classic!

Polka and taupe

Don't ask me why I paired these pieces together, in my flu ridden brain they worked well with each other. ...yes, that's my excuse... fever and flu! However the texture variety was wonderful.

Long shirt

This striped shirt is long and by long I mean hitting mid thigh long. There is nothing special about pairing a tunic with jeggings but I liked the little golden accents splashed around this outfit.

Special details

I love special details on an otherwise simple piece. This tee for example, as soon as I saw those contrasting inserts, I was a goner! The rest of my outfit can be on repeat for the thousand times, this little tee satisfies my variety loving heart!

Dancing queen

This trusty old Michael Kors dress of mine has proven herself a great ally. When I don't know what to wear I come back to it, cocktails, semi-formal dinner, company parties and of course... concerts!
So decked out in black and silver for a girls-night-out and out we went!

The concept of evening coats is old fashioned and mostly impractical but I was glad I owned one that went with my dress!

Blush head to toe

Can you imagine saying "Rose quartz" head to toe? Somethings just don't work!

Fashion colors for Spring/Summer 2016

Here you go. Get ready for spring, but before you run out and start shopping check your closet. you may already own these colors!

Buttercup

Buttercup  is one of the trendy colors for Spring and summer of 2016. My buttercup shirt however is from 7 years ago. So glad it's become trendy again!

Old faithfuls

An outfit made of old favorite pieces, from my perfectly faded boyfriend jeans to my light long cardigan to snake print flats to my Clinique chubby stick. Everything is from years ago... the jeans are actually from 15 years ago! My mood is soft and nostalgic these days.

Blue Valentine

Another two-for-one day(left) to night (right) outfit post. I wore these cropped JCrew jeans as soon as I received them. Our jeans season is tragically short. Also you should see the design on the back of that chambray jacket... I must do a "front and back" post on that...
Anyhoo, I leave you with a little word of wisdom: The block heels are great for walking on for hours.

Happy orange

One reason I am happy these days is because spring has come. Other reason? I'm wearing lots and lots of orange. It's always such a happy color to me. It also has replaced red in my wardrobe for the last 3-4 years. Can't remember the last time I wore a full bright red outfit!
Enjoying a day out with friends in the sun (left) and then a quick change for the evening because it was getting a bit chilly (right).

Flared jeans

Flared and wide legs are designed to be worn with boxy shrunken jackets. It's a historical fact going back to the days of Mademoiselle Chanel.... and with that little gem of wisdom in mind, I decided to wear this combo!

Spring outfit

I wanted to title this post "The army blooming!" but that would have been too weird, no?
Anyhow, our weather is warming up and it's time to switch to lighter happier jackets, like this floral bomber from last year!

Royal blue

I dare say my favorite shade of blue, ever! So good that I let it take the center stage and arranged everything around it. The color alone made up for lack of any fancy pieces in this outfit.

Braving the tundra

Why are supermarkets so cold? It's worse than a trip to Alaska! ....and if you dress for it, people would look at you like you are crazy. No matter!

BB cushion

My already favorite new discovery: LANEIGE BB Cushion
It's light on skin, has medium/full coverage, doesn't cake on face and interestingly Fair matches my skin tone perfectly.
I just had to tell you about it!

Tan and army green

Alright! It's all camouflage colors. Does it mean I want to hide somewhere? Is there an attack planed?

Saphire dreams

This sweater with its ingenious pattern opens so many color combination possibilities. Here I took the easy way out and went matchy matchy with navy (sapphire, indigo, ... the choice is yours).
Oh, and now it's time to stock up on flared jeans or in my case take my flares out of the storage. The many perks of being a pack rat!

Winter black and white

A black and white look for a mild midday weather. Layers layers, soon it's time for goodbye!

Up in arms

Army colors or another mix of desert colors, your choice of title! All necessitated by cold weather. Can I repeat how wonderfully warm and cozy that turtleneck is?

Positive thinking

Yes, we had a cold front, a snowstorm in the mountains and two days of windy weather and rain storm in the city with a 25 degree temperature drop. On the positive side, it was the last chance for me to wear this shearling coat this year. I'm glad I had this chance!

Desert colors

It's an apt description of my go to colors at the moment, all tan and khakis and orange and reds. The outfit was more a play on texture than color but I guess it worked both ways. Huh, lucky!

To match...
