Red dress

When the temperature passes 100 degree, I take outfit simplification to the extreme. It's one of the few times function definitely trumps form.

Candy apple red

After last week spend all in blue, I am making an effort to wear other colors. What to start with? Red! You know I love red, don't you?

Friday blues

Did you notice this week was all about chambray? My mood was too blue...
I thought it fitting to end the week in another chambray blue look. These tie-front pants matched the light blue part of the top's print pretty well.
Yay for matchy-matchy!

Chambray minidress

I do love an impromptu outing and dinner with friends, specially if the weather is as fantastic as it is these nights.
I confess to checking this dress's capacity to hide an overstuffed tummy before leaving the house!

Overall dress

This dress by itself is a bit too reveling to be worn during the day but layer a crop top under it and it is perfect. I just wish the weather was cooler so I could take full advantage of this layering trend.

Raw hem culottes

The best way to let a new piece shine is matching it with simple classic items....and what is more classic and simple than a white tee?
When you don't know where the day is taking you, simple is the best!

Date night blues

We have the bad habit of looking for a new restaurant when we are starving, instead of going to our tried and true spots. That means we go through lots of adventures on empty stomachs and most often end up eating subpar food!
I guess after all these years it's our special "Date night" ritual! My dress was pretty though!

Polka polka

A fit and flare polka dot dress was feminine and pretty enough for a yummy family dinner with close friends. I added a bit of bling to make it special. I can't stop myself from matching black and gold!

Fancy blues

 A midi button front skirt and a chambray tee are classics but may look simple. I elevated the outfit and "fancied" it up by adding white structured accessories and blue topaz jewelry.

Off shoulder top

Occasionally there is that special trend you just have to try! this was the case with me and off shoulder blouses. I saw this little number and had to have it. But when it comes to wearing it, I still don't have that many ideas. Time to go look for inspiration!

Bowling in blush

Aside from too many textures in this outfit, I loved it! The mauve/blush undertone was the unifying element in my opinion. As for the sequin jacket, have you ever seen a sequin item under the black lights of a bowling alley?!

Dusty colors

Not my usual color scheme, since I'm addicted to intense colors, but sometimes muted colors feels restful, don't they? Plus, not that many tops would go with these cropped chinos! Need must and all that! I did try to inject some energy into these colors by carrying that orange bag though. So "A" for effort?

Date nights

This little dress is perfect for a carefree night out, dinning in a patio and wandering around people and window watching.

Moroccan blues

Why fight the losing battle? I keep wearing blue and the resistance is futile.
Ok now, drama aside, I am seriously in love with the Moroccan feel of this outfit. It may not be  100% authentic but that's how I perceive as Moroccan!
Ooh... how cool is my new bag?!!

White and flowery

I love this tunic (dress!) but can't come up with outfit ideas for it, except wearing it with skinny pants.

Sporty on Sunday

I am so grateful that the children around me are into chic sports like ice skating. Honestly, can you imagine me on a lawn chair by a football field with a cooler of beer beside me?!!
In real life, my blouse had ombre embroidery going from dark red to pinky blush but I couldn't find a picture of it online. It is from Lucky brand. If someone did find a picture, please send it my way!

Out exploring

So, we left the city going to find a different landscape and 8 hours later got back home,  going from the cacti and flats of Phoenix to rainy Prescott with its birch and maple trees to Jerome up in the mountains while passing through a pine forest... Amazing how many climate changes you can experience by driving only 100 miles north of Phoenix.

What I liked this month:

-Gold threader earrings. These are my new obsession and look amazing on, all delicate and flowy! Only problem? The feel of chain passing through your ear piercing is not very pleasant!
-Solitaire rings. Not only diamonds but all the other gem stones and pearls too. Simple and understated.
-Purple pansies. These flowers represent one of the worse and one of the best moments of my life. When pansy season arrives I become a little nostalgic!

Peaches and cream

Peach is one of the trendy colors this spring but we have seen it overused in the last few years. I usually try to avoid it but I love this jacket... So here we go:

Night out

A ladies' night out is the perfect opportunity to dress like an independent woman and not somebody's wife! OK, so I'd missed my pant suits! Sue me!!!

I didn't think about it that hard... practicality be darned ... I dressed for creativity! Brushstrocked silk tee, cropped wide leg jeans, folky bracelets...

Lapis head to toe

I am grateful for flared jeans on windy cool days! I was wondering recently why I'm not carrying this MK tote anymore and got my answer today: It's extremely heavy. But also, extremely roomy which made it super useful!

Laced up neckline

I confess to buying this dress just because of the striped pattern, kind of menswear inspired but the loose roomy cut and short hemline making it feminine. When I received it, I noticed the trendy laced neckline... Oh, joy, It was an unexpected bonus!
