Fall contrast

Nope, I admit there was too much contrast and the colors too bright. One failed experiment to horrify  you:

White on white

Loved the 100 degree temp, cool enough to wear jeans (even if they are cropped) and warm enough for off the shoulder top. Sometimes I can like leaving in Arizona!

Camo colors

Sometimes you want to camouflage yourself as you run through your To Do list.
This shirt is made for a pairing with a camo skirt. I had to, you know!

Black on black

I like a black tank top as well as the next gal but instead of skinny jeans, I wear mine with silk wide legs. A whole lot more suited for this weather.
Red lips though? They are the same everywhere!

Silk insert tee

So happy I bought this tee in two colors. It is the perfect mix of casual and chic. A form of nonchalant luxury...
For this Fall I think I live in spruce green. What about you?

Eyelets and oxfords

Put the top and pants together as an experiment and concluded they were made for each other. I loaded up on blue accessories but next time might go for something more unexpected.

Too much blue these days? Apparently I'm depressed! ;)

Cropped jeans

Apparently I'm getting my creativity back since decide to go for a bit of quirkiness in this outfit.
Cropped flared jeans were great for a bit of heat our weather is still retaining.
People are wearing bandanas this season, I like it as a print on my top. Anything wrong with that?

Gold and white

When you are busy and rushed getting your hair done is the last thing you want to do. Why waste three hours in the salon when you can work on other stuff? unfortunately the hair is the first thing people notice about you... so let's go waste that three hours! Necessary evil and all that!

Monochrome navy

Another outfit built on accessories... am I becoming lazy? Nope, just too busy! Going monochrome requires the least amount of planning and creativity... I need my energy for finishing a couple of other projects... deadline and all that!

Accessorize!

Elevating a simple tee with accessories. Chic extras plus tailored white pants are quite useful!

Silk and linen

Keeping the color scheme autumnal but the fabric summery? Yes, what else you can do when the temperature is still at 105?

Joggers and daisies

Classier alternative to shorts and a tee (the AZ version of SoCal yoga pants and tank top) when you can't be bothered by dressing up? Joggers and a tailored tee. Instead of always present flip-flops, wear low block heels... same level of comfort for a lot less cleesh clash noise!

What to pack for an overnight trip: Clothing

Late summer and fall are the perfect season to take car trips and explore the surrounding cities. We have made it a tradition to take off Saturday (or even Sunday) morning for a 200 miles trip and usually drive back home in the evening. But in case we decide to make the trip longer and spend the night somewhere picturesque, I always pack a small overnight bag:
-Either a light cardigan or a soft jacket
-Shoes: Since for the car ride I usually wear sandals or booties (depending on the season), I carry a pair of comfortable sneaker with me...good for walks or hikes or just a comfy ride back home.
-Jeggings: easy to roll, don't take much space... help if the destination is in colder climate.
-a tee: would go with jeggings, with the shorts or skirt I usually have on for car rides or even under or over a dress.
-underwear... obviously!
-socks
-a sleeping set
-my cosmetic bag


Being prepared reduces stress and is great when you don't want to drive half the night to get home!

Split back top

Simple outfit? Ha! Looks can be deceiving... this little top has a split back showing just enough skin to be both classy and sexy. It moves beautifully, perfect for making an exit!

What to pack for an overnight trip: beauty and personal care

Late summer and fall are the perfect season to take car trips and explore the surrounding cities. We have made it a tradition to take off Saturday (or even Sunday) morning for a 200 miles trip and usually drive back home in the evening. But in case we decide to make the trip longer and spend the night somewhere picturesque, I always pack a small overnight bag.
I usually leave all my cosmetic and skincare essentials in a medium size (and soft) cosmetic bag or pouch. I keep the case fully stocked and always ready to go.
Here is the content of my cosmetic case:
(these products are my favorite and I have duplicate in my bigger cosmetic case for longer trips)
First row: Travel size tinted sunscreen or a CC cream with high SPF, travel size hand cream, travel size Dry shampoo spray, a small comb, travel size nail clipper and nail files.
Second row: makeup remover wipes, travel size face wash, travel size moisturizer cream, compact mirror, travel size or roller ball perfume.
Third row: travel size tooth brush and toothpaste in protective case, travel size hand sanitizer, travel size body mist, lip balm, a neutral lip color for day, a dramatic lip color for night, eyeshadow pencil and eyeliner pencil.

Ooh, I almost forgot...and of course, Hair ties... lots and lots of hair ties!

Mixing blush and moss

Putting together this two colors on a whim and liking the result. Who knew such contrasting colors go so well together? Kinda perfect for running around doing last minute "Designer" stuff.
Also who knew finishing a guest room would take so long!

Car trip dress

Wear a dress on a car trip once and it's so comfortable you become addicted. For a day in Prescott I wore this chambray T-dress. I should have brought a pair of leggings too because after 5:00 pm it became too chilly to walk around in bare legs.

Gold and white

When pants start to show up in my wardrobe you know our weather is cooling ever so slightly!
For a quick run to supermarket and a few other errands, this was polished and comfortable.


"Comfortable" has become my operating word, hasn't it?!!

Mini skirt and daisies

The picture doesn't show it well but my little old top has orange daisies on it. Goes perfectly well with the skirt as if it was made for it.
another little treasure I uncovered during my closet organization: this pewter mini bag which also matches my sandals perfectly!
Conclusion: It's great to organize your closet!

Navy and red

Still wearing culottes instead of pants, much more weather appropriate! But a full on navy mood? I prefer to liven up things with red!

Everyone is talking about Fall while in dear Phoenix temperature is still above 105. Me? I switched to my Fall colors, come hell or high temp!

Black jogger pants

What would be your outfit after spending a whole day remodeling and organizing? When you head out to get dinner (In'n'Out! where else is open at 10 pm?)  you want something light and effortless.
Loose black top and loose black joggers, great combo!

Silk mini skirt

I'd forgotten I own this little skirt. Paired with a little silk tee it was perfect for a late night pizza dinner. We are fortunate to discover a great Pizaa place only one block from our house. Better yet, it allows you to customize your pizaa. Result? Best pizza ever!

White wrap shirt

I dressed a bit more formally for an appointment because I had to look like a responsible adult and not an air-head clothes-horse. I thought the details on the shirt would make me happy.
Then, why did I feel so ho-hum in this perfectly respectable outfit?!

Navy chambray

one more wearing of my all time favorite dress before summer is over. Oh, I'm becoming nostalgic already!

Long over short

I finally wore this tunic as its creator intended: over a mini skirt... a full twirl worthy one at that!
The whole look  came out as ingénue school girl. I wanted to wear navy converse sneakers but thought that would be taking the look too far.

I won't mention the benefits of an A-line dress but I very much want to say a well organized closet (even a slightly organized one) is the best thing ever. I was finally able to look at all my handbags at  once and find this little precious one!
This mini bag measures only 8 1/4" by 5 1/4" but has huge personality!

day (trip) dress

Went on a daytrip, exploring and enjoying a beautiful mountain town. Although I usually don't wear dresses on car trips, this time I went with the carefree spirit of this pretty town. A sailor dress for visiting a town surrounded by lakes? Won't you?!

Gingham and sandals

Last days of summer, last days of wearing gingham and sandals. I'm done with summer but have to confess to feeling a bit sad about putting away my lightweight and airy dresses!
