Farmer's market
Back in California, we used to visit our town's farmer's market every other week, usually after brunch. In AZ, I didn't know the location of nearest market or a good brunch spot until a few weeks ago. Glad to say, the market is only a couple of streets away from our house and right beside a great cafe. One stone, two birds, a happy Sunday!

Sky is the limit!
This fall I fell in love with a pale blue coat in Limited (from Scandal collection). Being in Michigan and not knowing how long I could enjoy wearing that coat, I passed it. But the image stayed with me and when I found this little coat in a more classic cut and extremely discounted, I jumped at my chance. Then I decided to pray for a cold front so I can enjoy it for a few days. I received it the day before yesterday, had to wear it last night since the weather complied. Thank you, Shopping Gods! Thank you, Weather Gods!
PS. The collection was from Limited. I made a mistake and wrote Express.

Purple paisley
The fun is not in how well the plaid shirt and the sweater match, I've matched them before in another outfit. The news is how wonderfully well this scarf goes with everything. I'd used it in a sky blue outfit before and it looked amazing. Now it seems it was made to match plum and pink. this is it, my new love!

Inky blues
I have a weakness for intense inky blue colored items as you can guess. It's amazing to see how perfectly pieces purchased years apart go together. Take the sweater and button down shirt here. I bought the sweater a couple of years ago, the shirt this last fall, one while still in CA, the other in MI. Now in one outfit they look like they were made for each other... and yes, how can I resist going matchy matchy and piling on other blue items?

The outer layer
Really! My sweater and leggings wear totally appropriate for a late night Chinese food binge but the outer layer elevated it into something much better. It doesn't really matter what you are wearing under your chic coat as long as you have on coordinating high heels, a structured bag, a hint of gold and a statement lipstick. You can go anywhere!

A new diet?
When your comfortably loose boyfriend jeans become uncomfortably snug, it's time to rethink your diet. The sad fact is there is nothing left to cut out of my diet! I'm already following a lactose free gluten free low sugar diet and it has made me gain weight by helping me absorb nutrients better. Need a solution fast, before I ran out of clothes to wear!

2015!
Happy New Year!
May 2015 be a great year for you!
2014 was full of up and downs, lots of good times and equal amount bad times. I traveled a lot and moved four times. I got to spend two months with my dad. I went through the stress of house hunting, job hunting and interviews. I moved to a new state, start a job, met lots of new people, learned new skills, moved house twice when I was there and lived with roommates (housemates actually) for the first time in my life. I also lost that job at the end of the year. I saw a colorful autumn and shivered in snow for the first time in fifteen years. I got really happy and really sad. I found a wonderful friend and lost the friendship of a few not so wonderful persons. I learned to appreciate my life style more. I found the dept of my strength and the assurance that I can relay on myself. I became more confident. I decided to make happiness my priority in life. Stylewise, I appreciated a more minimal style, well made and high quality pieces, a feeling of structure and luxury.
What will happen in 2015? I don't know but I know for sure I am up for any challenge. My personal goals are to practice mindfulness and to be happy. My professional goal is following a path that brings me long term happiness. My style goal? Continuing to combine comfortable with chic... oh, and also find a new black satchel bag!
Best wishes for the new year!
The traveling pants
These ponte knit pants have become my default traveling pants. They are as comfortable as any leggings but more structured and therefore more pulled together. I've been wearing them for flights to Michigan and back to AZ. Also wearing them as winter pants in MI with fleece lined leggings layered under.
For a day trip to Payson (a little city northeast of Phoenix) which has a much lower average temperature, these were perfect, warm and comfortable.
